Our Team
Meet some of the team here at Resource Potentials.
Dr. Jayson Meyers – Principal Consultant and Director
Jayson founded Resource Potentials in 2001 and is a Principal Geophysicist and Director of the company. Jayson has a BSc in geology from California State University (1987), MSc in geochemistry (University of Miami, 1989) and PhD in geophysics (University of Miami, 1995). His broad, global understanding of geology and exploration has contributed towards new discoveries, especially in the search for
Janet McDaneld – Accounts and Human Resources Administrator, WHS Officer, Director
Janet has been with Resource Potentials since establishment in 2001 and is the Accounts Manager and Data Administrator. Janet obtained a BSc in Geology from the University of Miami in 1989. Janet is a member of the AIG.
Nigel Cantwell – Chief Geophysicist
Nigel has been an integral member of the Resource Potentials team since graduating from Curtin University in 2003. Nigel is experienced in many geophysical techniques for various commodities and geological settings in Australia and internationally.
John Sinnott – Senior Consulting Geophysicist
John graduated with a BSc in geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2003 and spent 4 years in the field predominantly acquiring EM data in Canada and Tanzania before joining Xstrata Nickel in 2007, where he focused on surface and downhole EM survey planning, modelling and interpretation in Sudbury and Western Australia. John joined the Resource Potentials team in
Sharna Riley – Managing Geophysicist
Sharna Riley received a first-class honours BSc (Geophysics) from Curtin University in 2012 and joined the ResPot team shortly after. Her thesis examined at constrained and unconstrained 3D inversion of ground magnetic data acquired at a New Zealand ironsand project. Since then, Sharna has worked with a variety of geophysical methods to explore for various types of mineralisation in Australia
Dr. Alexander Costall – Senior Geophysicist
Dr Alex Costall has a wide range of experience in different geophysical survey and data processing/modelling methods, with an emphasis on electrical and electromagnetic imaging. Alex’s recent PhD focussed on coastal hydro-geophysics for numerical modelling of solute transport in complex karstic aquifers and inversion imaging optimisation, and he has published multiple research papers based on this work. Alex previously worked at Curtin University WASM Department of Exploration Geophysics on research projects and teaching and supervision of undergraduate courses, and he maintains a research relationship with the Department.
Brad Cox – Senior Geologist and Geophysicist
Brad graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Geophysics from Adelaide University in 2015, after completing an undergraduate degree in Geology and Geophysics. His honours project involved MT data processing and inversion for interpreting crustal scale tectonics of the Western Gawler Craton and Eucla Basin. He worked as a field geophysicist with IP and EM survey companies before joining ResPot in
Cameron Thompson – Senior Geophysicist
Cameron graduated with a BSc in Geophysics from Curtin University in 2020 before joining the ResPot team. He works on a range of geophysical methods both for hydrogeological studies as well as mineral exploration for base metal, precious metal and industrial mineral projects located in Australia and internationally. Cam has also participated in multiple RC and diamond drilling programs exploring
Xiuping (Leo) Liu – Geophysicist
Leo is a Graduate Geophysicist who completed his BSc in Geophysics at Curtin University in 2015. Since joining Resource Potentials, Leo has assisted with various kinds of field and office work, and is mainly focussed on acquisition and processing of passive seismic HVSR data. Leo is a member of ASEG.
Ismail Yavuz – Consulting Geophysicist
Ismail graduated from Curtin University in 2009 completing his BSc in Geophysics with First Class Honours. He since has worked for WesternGeco and DUG Tech gaining 10 years of experience in processing of 2D and 3D marine seismic data from mostly offshore Australia. Since joining Resource Potentials in January 2021, Ismail has mainly focussed on the processing of passive seismic
Dr. Prabin Shilpakar – Geophysicist
Prabin has BSc in professional geology from The University of North Alabama and PhD in Geosciences from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). His PhD focused on the assessment of the uncertainty budget and image resolution of Terrestrial Laser Scans of geomorphic surfaces. He then served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Texas at Dallas, and then
Matt Little – Consulting Geophysicist
Matt completed his BSc in Geophysics with Honours in 2007 at Curtin University, during which time he worked in the field acquiring magnetics, electromagnetics, gravity and induced polarisation geophysical data. Upon graduating, he started his professional career in the oil and gas sector, working worldwide on seismic acquisition vessels, gaining 4 years of experience in the offshore seismic processing setting.
Dr. Gesa Graser – Senior Geologist
Gesa graduated in Geology from the University of Bremen, Germany, in 2002 and finished a PhD in Geosciences at the University of Tübingen, Germany, in 2008. Since then, she has relocated to Australia and spent several years as exploration geologist in greenfield exploration, covering a range of commodities, and early stages of mine development with projects located in Australia and
Bowen Mi – Geologist and Geophysicist
Bowen graduated from The University of Western Australia in 2019 with an MSc in Geoscience and joined ResPot in 2020. His thesis examined Thermal Controls on Rifting Regimes in Earth History by using Geodynamic Modelling. Bowen carries out geological and geophysical data processing, GIS mapping, and supervises geophysical surveys for mineral exploration. He is a member of ASEG, AIG and
